Vice to Virtue
The letter I choose to represent my personal vice and virtue is the letter A. For my vice I chose the word attitude. Attitude can be both a negative or positive thing depending on what kind of attitude it is but in my case it is a negative thing. The kind of attitude I am referring to is the kind of attitude I have when I do not get my way or am in a bad mood. When I do not get my way or when something goes wrong I have the worst possible attitude and become a complete brat. I constantly struggle with trying to not have and attitude on a daily basis especially with my parents. I do not want to have this negative, bratty attitude but it always comes out and it tends to get me in lots of trouble. For example, one time my parents did not let me go to a parade I really wanted to go to and I threw a fit and locked myself in my room and then I felt awful because I acted so immature. Also, after my fit my parents punished me for another night because of the way I acted towards them. My attitude is probably my worst vice overall and I want to continue to work at bettering it until I can show how I feel about things that upset me in a better way.
For my virtue I choose the word affable because I think it reflects greatly on my personality. Affable means friendly, good natured, and easy to talk to. One of my favorite qualities about myself is that I am so sociable and friendly with everyone I meet. I love meeting new people and making friends. Having this quality has helped me through so many tough situations. One main time I remember my affable personality helped me out big time was the first day of eighth grade. I was the only girl that transferred from my school and I did not know a single girl in my grade. I was super nervous, but when I got here I tried my best to put myself out there and meet new people and it worked. I am still friends with many of the people I was friends with in eighth grade even though they are not in my friend group. Another thing I think is important because I have the trait of being sociable is having friends outside one group. I love my close friends but I have so many friends outside my lunch group, which is so good because I have lots of people to hang out with and do different things with. Being a kind and friendly person is something very important to me that I value highly, and that is why I strive to be a person that is affable everyday.
