Graduation speech
Everyone told us high school was going to fly by. They said don't blink because it will be gone before you know it. Although many people told me this I did not expect it to actually happen. As freshman we were introduced to holt and its long confusing hallways where we got lost on our first or for some of us our second day of freshman year. We hurried to our classes nervous to be late, passing the walking skyscrapers we knew as the upperclassmen. A lot of us have been going to school together since elementary and middle school and had grown to be friends over the years. Our groups of friends were close and we had an abundant number of friends. Now our senior year we couldn't care less if the bell rang before we got to class and we complain about the loud, screeching, hyper, and immature freshman that crowd the lobby in the morning. Our circle of friends grew smaller and smaller each year until our senior year we had only a few close friends to lean on. We spent these last four years making friends, finding boyfriends/girlfriends, playing our high school sports, being parts of clubs and all the while we have been documenting it. Posting on facebook, instagram, snapchat, and twitter to show our friends and family our achievemenWe have grown into independent adults who have jobs and pay bills. High school brought us love, heartbreaks, friends, and a lot of stress especially during finals week. We learned to ask questions, make goals, the power of words, and to never give up on what we want. We survived the heartbreaks, the bad grades, and most importantly we survived never being able to change our snapchat username that most of us made in middle school. As we sit here today as the class of 2019 in our caps and gowns I think about the future of our world and know that our class will make a difference. Our class, the class of 2019 is strong and I know we will achieve great things in our careers and lives. We will start college, families, businesses, and more. When we leave here today many of you will say you're glad high school is over, many of you will say you want to go back. Well I say im glad its over although I will miss seeing my friends everyday, school dances, sports and most of all getting yelled at by our fellow peers for using straws. So class of 2019 let me be the first to congratulate you on your well deserved success.
