“ beep beep, beep beep, beeeeeeeeep…” Many kids ride wheelchairs in and out of the hospital each day because of the new virus Enterovirus D68. Enterovirus D68 is hit 6 states, the six states are; Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Iowa, Kansas and Colorado.

Enterovirus D68 is one of many non-polio enteroviruses. This virus was first identified in California in 1962, but it has not been commonly reported in the United States in six main states. The symptoms may be; fever, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, and body and muscle aches. Enterovirus D68 Infection in Missouri and Illinois have trouble breathing and some children had wheezing so the kids have to wear face masks to help them breath. There are no vaccinations to cure the virus. Many of the children had that have had asthma or have asthma are more likely to get Enterovirus D68. People are more likely to get Enterovirus D68. In general children, infants, and teenagers are most likely to get infected with enterovirus and become ill. They do not have immunity from previous exposure to these viruses, so the believe this is ture for Enterovirus D68.

As more and more people figure out what Enterovirus D68 is  we will be able to find a cure and less people will get it because they can prevent it. Kids will not have to go to be in wheelchairs and the kids will be better and have a better life.
