The Good Guys With A Tainted Name
Some say they're killers, uncontrollable, vicious, brutal, unintelligent, scary, and just down right evil. Some say they're lovable, sweet, caring, beautiful, intelligent, and protective. To tell you the truth I'm on the lovable, sweet, caring, and beautiful side. I've never had a bad experience with them and I've grown up around them all my life.
Pitbulls have always been given a bad reputation. They're not known for the lovable dogs they really are. Instead they're known as the uncontrollable killers that any dog can be, and to me that's unfair. Pitbulls are given a bad name because of their owners. The people who are supposed to show them love and affection, but instead show them nothing but pain and suffering.
Since people have decided they're going to use Pitbulls as the preferred fighting breed several laws have been put in place. Did you know in some states there is a ban on pitbull breeding, because no one wants to live next to "those dangerous animals". Places like Miami Dade County want to drastically reduce the pitbull population. Even in Delaware people want to reduce the pitbull population. If your pitbull resides within the city of Wilmington it must be registered and be neutered or spade.
In my personal experiences I've noticed that any dog can be just as vicious and if not even more vicious than a Pitbull. I've seen yorkies attack someone before a pitbull has. My Dad used to have a pitbull named Muñeca, she was the sweetest and prettiest pitbull I have ever seen in my life. Muñeca would run up to you not wanting to attack you but instead she would want to lick you, jump on you, and just play with you, she never did anyone any harm. Until one day someone stole her, abused her, and used her to fight other pitbulls. When my dad finally was given information about her and got her back she wasn't the same. Muñeca was skiddish, and she was scared of everything. If you raised your hand near her she would
cower in fear or growl at you.
One day Muñeca finally snapped and bit someone. My Dad was forced to put her down without any other options. This is the reason pitbulls have a bad name, not because of themselves, but because of cruel and heartless people. Nothing makes me more frustrated than when people call pitbulls a violent breed. Help save the pitbull’s name. Educate people on the loving animals pitbulls really are. Maybe one day the pitbull name will be cleansed.
