Mrs. Markano Best Teacher

You look at all these teachers throughout high school and you wonder if any of those teachers actually improved your grades. Well, is it possible all the teachers helped improve your grades? Now, let’s look at it a different way; are there any teachers that helped you be a better person? I am sure MULTIPLE teachers have helped in that way, but what about being inspired by a teacher? Or how about a teacher who creates a new friend group of different “cliques”? Such as a jock hanging out with a metalhead? Or even a teacher who uses their personal life and passions for their career? I can only think of one teacher who has done all of that and more. That teacher is none other than, the famous Mrs. Markano.
When you can walk into her class, she plays two acts. During the day, she’s a fantastic English teacher. She has an EXTREME passion for theater arts. I, myself, was intrigued by this and I went into her class in the name of acting. At first, I thought this was an easy class, but what I didn’t realize, is that I stepped into the domain of Mrs. Markano, and I would never be the same person again. After being with Mrs. Markano, I saw the passion she has for acting, and theater arts. And I became just inspired by it. I learned to use MY passion for an advantage on my schoolwork. Her other “act” is the mother side of her, where each student matters just as much as her work does. She always listens to my idea and build off of these ideas or explain how a different one will be a better idea. She proves how much of a heart she has for her students.
I always looked forward to seeing that stage and my acting class. My fellow students and Mrs. Markano formed a new group. She is made a new friend group. It didn’t matter who was all in it. All that matters was I was amongst my friends with the leader of the pack, Mrs. Markano. Sure, she is smaller than some students, but she has the biggest heart of a mother, and a teacher.
Sometimes she acts like my own mother, and that’s perfectly alright. She is a mother herself and she treats all her students as if she knew them from a past life or as relatives. She loves teaching and her passion reflects how she teaches: absolutely fantasticly.
She uses a saying during after school activities, she says: “hug three before you leave!” And when I first arrived, I was hesitant to hug the people I was not familiar with. Oddly enough, however, as it came to an end, I hugged EVERYONE before I left.
If there is anything that Mrs. Markano is iconic for, it’s her use of creativity in order to get the class going. She will have students just walk around and avoiding one random person, to playing a game where all students do is make a random noise. She knows how to get a class going, and in turn, she knows when the class needs to settle down and get their work done. It’s a whole new atmosphere that no one can re-create, only Mrs. Markano can do it.
I believe Mrs. Markano should be the true teacher of the year because of the amazing teaching ability she utilizes, along with the creativity and passion she demonstrates to each, and every one the students she meets within her career. No one could have a bigger heart than her, She is the teacher of the year and will be for many more to come.
