Educator of the Year
For students school is a burden, and that's how I felt in grade school. I could never to wake up in the morning and be excited to learn. Just the thought of going to school would adjust my mood from bad to worse. But that was before I started to do projects with Mr. Jaeger during school. Mr. Jaeger is a teacher at Stone Bank School, and he isn't a teacher for one specific class or grade. In fact, he helps close to every student, from any grade with any subject. For me he helped most in art class, or anything that had to do with technology.
It’s easy to spot Mr. Jaeger. Whether I walked through the school and I heard his deep voice echo throughout the halls. Or I were in the library, I saw him standing tall, with his flannel and his legendary ginger beard. Or I’m outside for recess and I heard crack a cheesy joke. He would not stand to see anyone upset while in his presence. If I were having a tough time at school, you could count on Mr. Jaeger to cheer you up, whether it was playing kickball or shooting hoops with you at recess.
The one project I remember the most was a math video project that he helped me with. In this video, I starred as the famous character “Garlic” He would give people nicknames, mine happens to be“Monkey Boy.” No matter who you were at school, Mr. Jaeger would take the time to get to know you, and from what felt like friendship.
It was always a fun learning experience with Mr. Jaeger. So it really made it special when I did get the chance to receive help from Mr. Jaeger. It didn’t matter what subject you were having troubles in, he would always try to help without hesitation.
Mr. Jaeger made school tolerable and more. Without him, I don't know what I would have done to get through the days. He is like a teacher, but much more.
