Educator of the Year
Ending the day of school is always something to be excited about, but if you end the day with Mrs. Mathews, you would never want school to end. Everyone would love to have Mrs. Mathews as their teacher. Her enthusiastic attitude with her caring and understanding personality is what everyone looks forward to.
All teachers care about their students but Mrs. Mathews cares a whole lot more. When my close friend’s mother passed away from cancer, Mrs. Mathews was by her side the whole time helping her through it. Without being forced to she makes sure everyone has passing grades in all their classes, so no one gets left behind.
Walking into class was always full of excitement with what we were going to learn or hear about. Mrs. Mathews was never in a bad mood. It was still a serious class, but she made it fun. In the gym there would always be music playing which made it less dreadful. Her dance moves were one of the many reasons we would laugh in her class.
Some people would struggle in either her health or PE class, but she would understand and not give you a hard time about it. Instead of being mean, she would just help you. Telling her things was easy because she would never judge. She is such an understanding person that it made being a student in her class less stressful.
In conclusion, I think that a good teacher should be caring, enthusiastic, and understanding. Mrs. Mathews fits all those qualities and that is why she is my nominee for the Educator of the Year.
