As I get up 6:45 sharp, getting ready for the first day of seventh grade, I feel both excited and dreading to go to school again. I have heard about a math teacher that is supposed to be horrifying and also to scare the pants off of you. As the bell rings and the passing period starts, I take as long as possible to get to his class dreading what might be to come. As I step foot into his class I am welcomed by a warm “ Hello, How is your day,” at this point I knew that he was going to a very nice but maybe strict teacher from what I heard.

As the class gets of to a slow start, Mr Destache explains where he went to college and the to do’s and not to do’s in his class. About a week later when you actually started to do things in his class, you learned really quick who did their homework and who didn't, as he checked over it and said something out loud. When the first quiz came around he walked around with a ruler and would slap it on his hand to make sure that you keep your head down keep working. This not only helped me to learn work ethic and to get a better grade but it also helped me to grow as a person as I was going to go to high school within a year.

Mr Destache didn't just help motivate me but also helped me to grow as a person. I learned how to work harder and to have fun doing it. He also made it fun to be in his class. For example pie day, a day when many people would bring in pies and if we all brought them in we would get to eat them, If not it was back to school work. He also made his class fun because he was always making a joke or keeping someone in line.

There are many more reasons why Mr Destache is my favorite and best teacher that I have had. I would love to thank him for what he has done to grow me as a math student and as a person. I would also like to thank him for the things that he has done for the school and the many people that he has taught. Thank you for what you have done for me and many others throughout the school.
