Tony MAG
I was sitting in the one of the coolest hotels I had ever seen when it happened: I got to meet my hero, Tony Hawk.
I woke up at the crack of dawn, excited and nervous at the same time. I knew the interview would be something I'd remember for the rest of my life. I left my hotel wondering what it would be like to meet someone I had admired since I first saw him on television. I arrived at Tony's hotel and met the other two teens; I was the official skateboarder of the group. After meeting the other two, it was off to work, going over all the questions we would ask Tony.
After picking and organizing the questions, there was a knock at the door. I started shaking. I could not get over the fact that I was about to meet the best skateboarder of all time. Tony Hawk walked in the room and sat down across from me. I was very nervous but somehow was able to introduce myself. He gave us genuine, honest answers to our questions. Throughout the interview I kept thinking, Wow, this guy is so cool. Most people in his position might be cocky but he was completely down-to-earth.
After the interview I got his autograph and he left to rehearse for the MTV Music Award program the following night. I was so happy to have had the chance to interview the greatest skateboarder of all time. I will never forget this experience and could not wait to get home and brag about it to my friends.
