Who is Hunter?
What does it mean to be Hunter?
Am I automatically a rifleman by heart? Do I provide the necessary resources for those I take care of?
What does it mean to be Hunter?
Many think of someone who hunts, who kills. The anglo-scottish and biblical meanings claim me to be a scavenger or a provider. Hunter is the strength that most others don’t possess. The strength to scavenge and provide.
My parents just liked the name. But that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t tell me who I am. Being a hunter means being curious. sharp in the mind. ready to defend, capture, or make peace with whatever the hunter comes across. Being a hunter is more than shooting animals. Being named Hunter is more than that too.
Hunters know where they stand. They are self-aware. They do not waver for others––but instead stand strong where they are. Like a tree. How it doesn’t move unless a strong force acts upon it.
Hunter. A cloudy sky. A green forest. Brownish grey trees. Green leaves. Going as far as the trees stretch. Hunter is a thick name. An unbreakable branch. An unwavering tree. Although trees do not move easily, the wind can sway them. They aren’t afraid of change, but embrace it. Just as the ocean embraces its waves.
Like a vast light blue ocean. Calm, peaceful—but unknown. the depths of the ocean floor––the length of the creaky, strong woods. My name is a name of roughness, like tree bark, or sticks on the ground that crack when they are stepped on, branches and leaves everywhere you step.
I enjoy being Hunter. I will continue to be curious and sharp. I will continue to scavenge, unafraid of change. I will try new things, but continue to be as deep as the ocean floor. Keeping some of myself hidden. For it is wiser that way.
I will wear my name passionately, and stand firm, knowing that I am Hunter.
