When I think of my name Molly, I think of a calm river flowing. Some ripples with fish swimming up and down. Molly is a name that just flows like water in a river. You are one of the fish flowing down the stream while the ripples are carrying you down the river. Calm feelings are flowing through your body and warming you up.

In English, my name is a kind of freshwater fish. In Irish, it means the “star of the sea”. Think of how the stars shine upon the sea and the reflection at night. Looking up at the stars on a calm night.

I was named Molly because my mom liked the name. It was old-fashioned. Easy to pronounce. Molly is a very simplistic name. You don’t hear many Molly’s around.

No one in my family has been named Molly so I have to create a legacy. Unlike my middle name, “Belle” from my great-grandma. I am honored to be named after her. She  was known for making fancy dolls and her creations are in a museum still to this day. I hope one day that some of my creations or talents are being shown to people later in life.

Once I'm older I might even do the same thing and name some of my kids after their relatives like I was. I was thinking of “Jane’’ as a middle name for a daughter if I had one. Jane is my mom's middle name. It is a special thing to do within families.

I love the name Molly for myself and would love to keep it forever and cherish the name I have been given. Hopefully, the name influences people in generations to come. It is a very unique name and I feel like it fits my personality, I go with the flow of what is going on around me. I spend lots of time on the water in summer and my favorite thing to do is go out at night and look up at the stars. I am not much of a rowdy crazy kind of person, I just go with the flow of things.
