Dear past me,

Congratulations! You are now about to enter middle school! Don’t worry, if you thought decimals were bad, don’t worry, it only gets worse from here. I’ll summarise school with a single word: torment. That’s really what it is. Trust me, I would know as I am approaching my senior year of high school. You’ll come to learn that time really does fly.

If you thought that life now was weird and hard, again, it’ll only get worse from here. In a few years, you’ll get thrown head-first into a global pandemic. We enter a state of emergency on Mum’s birthday. Weird, huh?

Yeah, there’s more, but I won’t give too many spoilers. First off, you do manage to write three full novels in high school, and as of currently, I’m writing my fourth novel. You run your own business, too. If I could include pictures in this letter, I would. You make some pretty weird things when you’re stressed out.

Also, you’re not going to move states like your dad has been saying for the past few years. Don’t get your hopes up. Also also, your favourite book has a sequel. It releases in April of 2019. Great book, I’ve read it.

But other than that, I’d say things are at least decent for me, your future self, right now. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of rough times, a lot of them, but if you start preparing yourself now, you won’t be affected when the time comes. Make sure Mum also begins looking into autism. I know that your sister has autism, but you have it too. Same with ADHD. There are a few other things, but like I said, if you prepare now, you will be more ready for what the future holds.

Some things have happened to you, and some things that you have witnessed. Please let go of them, do not hold them close to you as they will only hurt you. I know from experience.

Stay strong, little one.

From, your future self
