Translucent
Even in a crowded room I am invisible. Everyone looks through me. No one hears my voice. My agony remains unnoticed, shrouded in the shadows of my heart. No one reaches out when I cry for help. My outstretched hand remains empty and forgotten in the torrent of life that moves around me. Just one small, shining tear is shed before it too is lost in darkness. I close my heart and stop reaching. I allow myself to be swept off in the tide of sorrow pulling at me, and my soul clings to the last shards of hope that stubbornly remain.
