Me, Myself, and I
For years people have been telling me to be myself. So, that’s exactly what I am, myself. Yeah
I’m a little crazy.
Yeah,
I’m a little blunt.
Yeah,
I act like I don’t care about anything.
What’s your point?
I am myself.
I am proud.
Don’t judge me!
I get constant looks from parents and staff members at games.
I get lunch detentions for being myself.
What the hell?!
I got told by a parent yesterday
“You better grow up soon, or no guy will date you. No one will hire you. Everyone is gonna grow up, and your not gonna. JUST GROW UP!”
I looked her straight in the eye and said
“You look at me and scoff. You watch your daughters game in your work clothes because your too uptight to take them off. Your daughter complains about how much you two have grown apart since your promotion. She wants you back. She tries her hardest and you don’t seem to notice. I noticed you in the bleachers today. 95% of the game you were on the phone. Did you even see her play? Or did you just come to feel good about yourself. Because that’s all you care about. Gratification. Well, heres a tip. Take off your skirt, put on your sweat pants, have a nice dinner with your daughter, notice how good her serves are and don’t EVER talk to me about growing up. Because, if I grew up, I’d turn into you.”
I now have lunch detention. Because she told my coach. Her daughter now loves me because I made her mom cry. Which in truth made her crack. Their going out to dinner tonight.
From 6th period lunch detention,
Holly
