The Day I Lost My Hamster
It was silent for a moment. I had just turned down the noisy volume to hear that cat meowing. It was loud, a bit too loud, like the cat was right next to my ear. I just wanted to watch some television in peace. My head was about to explode. ‘’I seriously hate cats.’’
The noises suddenly got louder for no reason. I even heard a bit of squealing. I thought a cat was hurt or something, but I didn’t care. My whole life I hated cats, so I had no reason to go see if that animal needed help.
After a while, I started getting annoyed, so I stood up and accidently tripped over the lamp outlet and it went completely dark. I couldn’t see anything. Out of nowhere a big loud noise of glass broke,’’ crash.’’ I started looking in my drawers for a flash light. Finally I found one. I started searching everywhere carefully to check where the noise was coming from. Then big, blue, scary, eyes were staring at me.
It was black and long with a white belly. His eyes were big, blue, and scary. I started sweating and felt my face start to get hot. I didn’t want that cat close to me. What that cat had just done really made me very upset. Then I saw it…my hamster.
My cage was broken. I saw the small pieces of glass everywhere. I pointed my flashlight towards where my hamster cage laid. Quickly tears started running down my face. I had just experienced something horrible. My poor tiny Winter White Dwarf Hamster had just been swallowed by a cat.
I saw everything. That nasty thing had grabbed my hamster by his short tail and put him in his mouth. I dropped to my knees. I couldn’t believe it. I kicked the cat in his butt and it ran out hissing. I quickly checked in the cage to make sure that he had a hair ball in his mouth and not my hamster. But my Fluffy was now considered dead. I learned what I thought all along: never trust a cat.
