And We All Fall Down
It happens like dominoes. We are straight. We are upright. And now, one of us wobbles. Maybe we were pushed. Maybe we weren't. But, it doesn't really matter because in the end, we all still fall.
Anger ripples through this house like sound waves and it is contagious. All you need is a sour remark or one drop of frustration and suddenly the world is spinning and chaos ensues.
Now, when you are poisoned with this deadly element, there isn't much that you can do except wait it out. I suggest an activity, preferably one that you don't like.
Me? I do the dishes.
Someone lied to me once and said that it was calming. The water, the cleansing, the repetitive motion of scrubbing plates. I can picture it perfectly.
Circle after circle after circle.
It is, by no means, a channel to dilute your disease, only a way to justify it and to pass the wicked, wicked time.
I like to do them loudly. Throwing them down too roughly, hoping that one of them just might break and feed
my need for justice.
I make sure that the water is hot and I don't even flinch when it burns my hands.
It is hard to move on sometimes and it is not always as easy as saying, "Smile."
Trust me, I would know.
So, next time someone breaks something of yours, whether it be your phone or your heart, next time that horrible wave comes and hits your house and you find yourself crippled with an unpleasant emotion...Next time you are angry, execute that monster properly.
Do the dishes.
