The Perfect Day
I lie on the fresh cut, green grass and stare at the tall trees blocking the blue sky above me. The green leaves sway back and forth, dancing. I lie still, waiting for something to happen, but knowing nothing will. The silence takes over allowing only my mind to speak. The wind softly brushes against my bare legs and the goosebumps appear. My long, curly, chestnut hair collects the leaves and small sticks lying around me. The clouds move and create creatures and figures in the bright sky. A bunny hops through the sky, then an airplane sores by.
The grass cuts my arms as they move around, trying to brush the bugs away. The sun starts to get lower and lower, and cotton candy colors take over the sky. I lie still for another moment, staring at the colors that become more vivid as time goes by. I sit, I stare, in the silence that brings me to the end of my perfect day.
