I was in shock to see my mom running around the house; she said with a disappointed  look get up we're going to New York today remember we told you 3 weeks ago. That's how I remember how that morning started, 2 years ago I went to New York for the first time. It was one of the most memorable times of my life.
When we left on the way to New york. It was that morning around 5:00am on July 26 that I knew it was going to be a long 12 hour drive with my three annoying brothers. When their in car who knew what would happen. We were going to be in New York for 3 days and my dad was going to be working. When we got to New York and we check into the holiday inn. At that time it was 9:30pm so we went to bed after a long drive.
The first thing we all wanted to do was go see the Statue of Liberty for the first time. We took the ferry ride across the water was about 15min to the island.The ferry ride was fun for my first time, we got to the island and there it was the Statue of Liberty it was amazing how tall it was. It was all made out of 62,000 pounds of copper and is worth 200,000 dollars. we read the sign in front of it. the sign said what it represented and how it got to america here’s what it said…

  “The torch is a symbol of enlightenment, the Statue of Liberty's torch lights the way to freedom showing us the path to Liberty. Even the Statue's official name represents her most important symbol freedom. People of France officially presented the completed Statue of Liberty to the United States minister to France in Paris on July 4, 1884. It was then disassembled in Paris and packed in 214 wooden crates for shipment to the United States.”
We went back to the hotel after that and we got something to eat. We went to one of the most best pizza restaurant in new york called the Di Fara Pizza we walked in and the smell was amazing. The smell of the cheese and the baked pizza in the oven I think it was the best restaurant I have ever been too. After we ate we were all full and we went back to the hotel for the firework show. every saturday night the hotel we stayed at has a firework show. When we got there it wasn't time for the show yet.
I could smell the pool’s chlorine when we walked in the front doors of the hotel. The best part of that trip for me was the pool. It was a indoor and outdoor pool with a doorway to get from the inside to the outside. This pool was the best it had a lazy river and it had its own hot tub next to the pool. We decided to go swimming why we weight for the firework show. As soon as I was done swimming and we were already outside and watching the firework show. The fireworks were awesome and the Statue of Liberty was visible from where we were standing.
In conclusion, going to see the statue of liberty for the first time. I learned about how it got here to America and how it was built. We ate some really good food and watch some fireworks. The best part of the trip was staying at the hotel and going swimming.That trip to new york was one of the most memorable times of my life.
