My lung were filled with fresh air, It was a beautiful day until we had to go to the hospital. I learned not to smoke because of what happened that awful day. It started out as a normal day I would eat breakfast and do chores and play with the neighbors. Instead my mom got a call from my grandma saying that my grandpa was in the hospital and that he got emphysema (emphysema is a long lasting disease in your lungs which makes it almost impossible to breath): COPD (COPD is a disease that can’t be cured but can be treated with steroids. Its symptoms are coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness); and he had problems breathing anyway from smoking too much.

After my mom got the call I ate my breakfast as fast as I could as my brothers ate there food  slowly. We were getting prepared to leave but My brother was so slow putting on his shoes and he didn’t have his coat either. When he got all his stuff we got in are blue van and headed to the hospital.

We were on our way to the hospital but It took forever to get past the traffic on the highway. After about 15 minutes of being on the highway we had to find a spot to park after 5 floors of looking we found one on the 6th floor... when we got in It had been about 20 Minutes from our house to the hospital and my mom had to call my grandma to find the room.

After about 5 minutes of looking for the room we found it- my grandpa looked okay but he had a oxygen tank that he used to breath from because he couldn’t breath because of the diseases that he got from smoking. If he didn’t have the tank of oxygen he would have died because he couldn’t breath. Me, my brothers, and my cousins were scared that my grandpa would die but all the parents assured us he would be fine. My grandma explained what it did and also why he would need it.

My grandpa was fine in the end but they have a hard time traveling. My grandpa still needs the oxygen tank but he still has trouble getting some things done. I learned not to smoke because it can ruin your lungs.
