The Love for the Game
Walking through the doors I could feel the excitement the anticipation of fun, and encouragement as I walked towards the warm up area. Girls ran over to me and asked for my name they wanted to know all about me as we talked before we practiced. The sound of the buzzer went off which meant it was our time for practice and we headed onto the field. My experience from joining a club team for soccer I’ve learned that you have to work hard and be dedicated to the team.
When I arrived at the Ultimate Goal in Marcellus, NY, I was nervous stepping out of the car. After, I had entered the building they all welcomed me and told me what warm-up area to go to.When we stepped on to the indoor turf field I could tell that I wasn’t prepared for what to come next. Then, I realized that I was committed to soccer and realized I’ve been waiting to be on this kind of team. The feeling of success was the greatest feeling I’ve had in awhile. After the first practice was over I felt tired but after I went over to my dad and my sister they told me, I did great and then I had another practice in Auburn right after this practice. After I had been playing soccer for 90 minutes I went to my practice in Auburn and I was up and going fast and not out breathe after playing hard for 90 minutes. As you can see, my first night on my first club team and how if felt so surreal.
As a next couple practices went on I could feel the excitement of the game as I was improving my soccer skills every single day. Then, I had my first soccer game for my club team, and I did awesome for never playing with the girls on this team before, and I played some defense and nobody was getting by and everybody started complimenting me. I had played for the U12 and the U14 age group for Arsenal Academy and then later that night I had a game for Auburn in the U14 age group. I had 4 games total that day and the competition was good like a group of professional soccer players playing at their minimum potential. After having playing a game with my club team I’ve learned hard work is required from you to do your best and working hard with the team to be successful. When you work as a team you can feel the difference when one person in the group doesn’t work with everybody else, and it makes the plays fall apart that is setup. As you can see, after a while I’ve learned that hard work and dedication is needed to be successful to be apart of a club team.
The whooshing sound of the ball being kicked into the air was a moment of relief when the ball landed at my foot. After it had landed next to my foot, I could feel the ball running towards the goal rolling across the goal line. When the ball made it across the goal line it was bright and shining down brightly on the ball. With the goal scored the people sitting in the stands sounded like pouring rain banging on the house screaming and yelling for the team was up a lot. As you can see, the success that had happened in the game that the team and I have worked towards to get to that point.
Through my experience joining a club for soccer I’ve learned that you have to work hard and be dedicated to the team and never give up. After playing on this club team for four years already I feel I’ve improved a lot every year. Since I’ve been playing with Arsenal Academy I’m plan on playing Division 3 soccer during college. Afterall hard work, dedication and commitment is needed to play on a college team.
