To be honest, you won’t find blind loyalty like the kind given by a fandom anywhere else. No matter what a character does, the fandom is behind them one hundred percent. The character could even be a psychopathic murderer, and yet the fandom will produce a plethora of fanart and fanfiction to praise them. A fandom is a bright place with every comfort possible. Sure there are dark places in every fandom, as per Rule 34, but nevertheless you will always find people fighting hard for the victory of their ship, or cooing over the fluffiest of fan memorabilia. Sometimes a fandom is split down the middle over a small issue, such as Team Edward versus Team Jacob, but in the end they can usually, begrudgingly, agree that both Sparkles and Fido have their moments in the sun.  Fandoms have no age restriction and everyone has equal opportunity to take part in the fun, even if sometimes the forty-year old men wearing My Little Pony cosplay get a little creepy. There's always an obsession phase that comes with entering the dark recesses of a fandom. This is, both, the most euphoric and the worst thing for your health and social well being. Considering that this new fandom has now taken up most of your time and patience, so you begin to act like hermit and completely disregard your real life responsibilities. Then there is the withdrawn pain when your favorite character dies. But never fear, the fandom is here. There will be forums, fan fiction, fan art and bad jokes shared to help you through these rough times, and usually a good serving of cookies and shoulders to cry on. Overall, fandoms are a thing that everyone has been apart of at one point or another. You’ll find them everywhere, fighting, comforting, having an existential crisis, and praying to the fandom gods to bring their favorite characters to life. But you always know that beyond the insanity that they put out, fandoms are truly some of the best places you will ever find yourself lost in.
