Civil Defense
The sirens start and begin to blare.
People will panic but we dont care.
The mushroom clouds then appear.
People duck and cover in their fear.
We dress up in our yellow suits.
We help the blind, deaf, and mutes.
But they say "War don`t make sense".
They would know if they were Civil Defense.
They would know war if they were Civil Defense.
We help people get out of the rubble.
They dont know that their still in trouble.
We tell them that they were fully exposed.
We were forced to leave them shelter closed.
For now if they survive they will live in fear.
We can not help them for atleast a year.
But they say "War don`t make sense".
They would know if they were Civil Defense
They would know war if they were Civil Defense

This was Inspired by the voluntter oginization in the 1960`s to the 1980`s that did what is described in the song in the even of a Nuclear Attack. I decided to write this because, through our intire program that is now known as FEMA, our work was never reconized and no one ever listened to us. This is what we think what would have most likely happened.
People think they know war, they would know if they were Civil Defense.
