Difficult often lead to beautiful destinations

We as human beings always take things for granted. We surround ourselves to social media so much that we don't realize that we are fading fast.We always complain on how we don’t have the latest technology or how the girl/boy went to a concert to see your favorite band, when you couldn't even complete for the bus fair. Ask yourself, when was the last time you had a plate full of food? When was the last time you felt safe? How about when was the last time you saw your parents? You see? The most simple things are what we take for granted and later we wish we could have made it last. Take advice from someone who has witnessed or experienced it. Guessed it already?

There are so many things happening around the world but for some strange reason we never notice. There was one day that I went to Tijuana, Mexico to visit some family members. I was at my aunt’s house with only my cousin , she is a year younger than me.Now before you judge my aunt she is a single mother with 3 children. It is tough living out there and feeding 3 children. My aunt was at work when we were in the house. My cousin just came back from school in the afternoon hungry of course since it was was burning like the desert that day. I realized that I should make ourselves dinner . When I went to open the fridge door “creak!” was the sound it made. I looked at the fridge to find it bare . “What do you eat?” I asked my cousin . “ Oh it's okay, my mom gave me 25 pesos (1 dollar and a half) for lunch. I got a juice and a small bag of chips.” she said . I slowly realized that wherever you go it's different . In Mexico they don't give you lunch . They have a small store so you can buy a Snack so when you go home you can have your full meal. This wasn't the case here. She wasn't going to have her full meal because she had to wait until it was time to go to bed to eat a small cereal. Amazing how she didn't even complain, in fact she was grateful that she even had her snack. That event made me realize that you really have no right to complain because people out there go through 3 times worse than you. There is always someone that will live better than you but also worse than you.

Now when was the last time you saw your parents? Years ago my best friend's mother went missing. Her mother had been missing for a week. That week became two and then 3 , and well you get the idea. Her grandmother had been filling in police reports every single shot she had. She was like a kid trying to reach candy whenever she had the chance. The police weren't doing anything about it so she took matters into her own hands. She invited family members, friends, neighbors, anybody that knew her daughter to join her and protest to the police for not doing there job. She made banners, posters, she had beautiful white candle lights to walk around , to alert people about the news. Even the news came over to record what was happening. My friend was so depressed about her mother gone missing. They sent calls, texts but no reply as always.A month had passed and the police finally had some news.We just didn’t know if they were good or bad. It was a gloomy day, the police had found her mother but not the way they wanted. They found her in a body bag chopped up in pieces.” I am so sorry mam’ we found your daughter but in a body bag.” The cops said. From that day I learned to be grateful that I have my parents around.
Now this is the last event I am going to tell you. Haven’t we as students mostly feel safe at school. We have security guards always keeping an eye on us making sure we go inside into the classrooms. Very recently there was a crime. The worst crime a man can do to a girl or boy. In my sister’s elementary school there was a little girl violated. The girl was traumatized and went to hospitals and therapy sessions because of  such a cruel action of a man. My sister was scared to go to school in fear that the same thing would happen to her. No one should be denied to go someplace in fear of being hurt. That day it made me open my eyes more. Realizing that world can be such a cruel place when you don’t even realize it.. You just got to keep moving on. Never lose hope because some despicable people say so.

People should appreciate what we have in life. We never realise that we had something great until we lose it. We should appreciate having, parents, being safe, and having food to eat. We need to realize we only live once and that's it. We only have so little time to enjoy each other company. If we learned to appreciate I guarantee that the world would be so much better. People would not be so cruel and selfish. Appreciate what you have because if you don't you will deeply regret it.

What inspired me to write this story was that I realized that we surround ourselves into our own little world that we don't realize what we are missing. I hope that people will realize that they should appreaciate what they have because other people would do anything to live the life they are living.
