Competition
As we huddled up waiting to be called onto the mat for competition, I could feel the nerves coursing through my body. Despite this familiar feeling I smiled and took some deep breathes. Finally, we were called onto the mat and as soon as our music started. Our routine starts with jumps, which I tried to keep on time as I thought about all changes we had made some as recent as the day before. Next, came the most nerve racking part which was our stunts. However, I kept a smile on my face and we hit every element with ease. Last was our dance during which we hit our motions sharply just like we had practiced so many times. Then, it was over. All of the long and strenuous practice was clear from the moment we stepped on the mat. While we may not have won or even placed we made a lot of improvements and will continue to do so.
