Slice of Life: Bookstores
Warmth envelops me as I take a quiet step inside. I smell the small coffee shop counter from the two front doors. Shelves of paperbacks and hardcovers stand around the beautifully lighted store. A nice greeting comes from the cashier. This place reminds me of how much I love books. That wonderful scent of clean crisp wood that paper carries has always been comforting. I walk slowly down the young adult section and read all the summaries on the book backs that catch my attention. I run my fingers gently over the covers and admire the art. I have deep thoughts about all the different worlds that have been created by authors. A soft smile lights my face as I continue to search for a new book. I always end up in the clearance section. You would be surprised at how many good books you can buy for 2 dollars.
