Weedsport Vs. Victor MAG
Both sides are nervous,
trying to focus,
despite the anticipation.
The rivalry between the two
dates back to the day
human was introduced to water.
Thought of as equal,
each side hopes for
victory.
They march in like soldiers,
one by one,
solemnly.
The tension inside
of their souls
tightens,
as they see their competition.
The soldiers
have trained hard for a win,
but have not prepared themselves for a loss.
Neither side likes to lose.
This is a war,
a war of the
waters.
In,
and,
Out,
as fast as they can.
Personal bests
don't count in this meet,
best of the best,
is what it takes to win.
One team ahead,
then the other,
back and forth,
like a teeter-totter.
Soldiers'
nerves are on the rise.
And fixed on the scoreboard,
are their eyes.
It declares the best,
and second best.
Swimmers'voices cheer and chant.
Swimmers' hearts break and shatter ...
Just wait,
until next year,
the Gators will return,
with their battle cry being,
remember Victor!
