This story is about what I had to do last year to make it to state in wrestling. Making it to state takes a lot of time putting in for this sport and you haft to go into it thinking you are going to win.
The story starts out with me and the team getting ready to go to Regionals. We had been running and working out so we could be in shape for Regionals. I also had been working on moves and finding out who my opponents my be and also to see if I needed to cut weight to go into a lower bracket. My coach just told me to go into the bracket that I have been wrestling all year, so I just listened to him.
Regionals is finally here and I am seated second in the bracket which means that the people who made the bracket thinks i’m going to finish in second place. I had a bye my first round which means that I don’t have to wrestle until the second round. The second round I went against a kid from Benton, IL. I beat him 19-4 which is a technical fall which means that I am beating him by 15 or more points in the match, so now i am in the finials going for the championship. I was going against a kid from a team with the name of Bluegrass Wrestlers I have never wrestled him before. We wrestled the first and second rounds without scoring a point. The last round he took me down the I got away from him so the score was 2-1 and he was winning he took me down again and I reversed him and got 1 back point so the score was 4-4 with 30 seconds left in the the last round. He took me down then I got away from him so the score was 6-5 all I had to do was take him down  but he throw and beat me 8-5.
Know we are at sectionals and I am getting ready to wrestle my first match against a kid who beat me before, but in this match i went out there and throw him at the beginning and pinned him. My second match i lost because a kid throw me and pinned me. My third match i was going against a kid from East St. Louis. We were tied 4-4 in the last round and he picked me up and illegally slammed me and i had two signs of a concussion so i couldn’t finish wrestling but i won that match because he illegally slammed me. I was really upset but my coach came up to me and said that “All the world is full of suffering, but it is also full of overcoming.”.
I never made it to state that year but I overcame being sad about not making it there and told myself that I will do better in high school.
