Kobe Bean Bryant was born on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went to Lower Merion High School. He entered the NBA draft at the age of 18. He had lead his team to five NBA Championships and was awarded the MVP award in the 2008 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Although later in his career he had been injured many times, he was still able to pass Michael Jordan on the all time scoring list with 33,643 points when he retired. The following year he decided to retire from the NBA after 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.
           

When Kobe's father Joe Bryant left the NBA he took the family to Italy where they spent most of their early life and his father played in the Italian league. When the family came back to Philadelphia he joined the Lower Merion High School. He lead the team to four straight state championships.
           

Kobe Bryant then decided to skip out on college and go straight into the NBA. He was then drafted by the Charlotte Hornets and was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers In his first season in the NBA he was voted as rookie of the year. In his second season in the NBA he was voted a starter for the All-Star game. At this moment he was the youngest All-Star in the league and the youngest ever. He scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors in January of 2006. Which is the second most amount of points scored in a game which is behind Wilt Chamberlain with 100 points. He was named MVP in 2008 and carried the los Angeles lakers to the NBA finals and lost to the Boston Celtics. He has played on the Olympic team twice. But in 2015 he had been injured three different times and was slowing down.
           

At the end of the 2015-2016 season kobe decided to retire from the NBA after 20 seasons. He then played his last game against the Utah Jazz and lead his team to a win with his 60 points. He had been in the all star game 18 times and on the olympic team twice. HE was also voted all-NBA defensive player 12 times.
           

He has a wife named Vanessa. He has three daughters named Gianna, Bianka, and Natalia. He now still tried to stay close to basketball and now has a summer basketball camp called Kobe basketball Academy.
