The very first space mission took place on October 4, 1957. This shows
that we have not been searching or working on universal projects for
too long. Do you think 65 years is enough to get as far as searching
for life on other planets? Traveling to another world out of this
solar system or even in it would take a long time, and to be able to
travel that distance in a short time, advanced technology that is
quick and strong is required. According to “The Search for Alien Life
Ramps Up” and “Aliens Must Be Out There”, there are many planets,
which are habitable, and life can be found with the correct tools.

Extraterrestrial life exists, we have not discovered life since we
have not used advanced technology that can travel very far in a short
time. Looking at the article, “The Search for Alien Life Ramps Up”, “
‘We think the next-generation telescopes will have the capability to
study atmospheres of small planets,’... ” (Hotz 3). That proves that
we need to work on improving tools to do the assignment. Another
evidence that searching for life will take time is, “ 'We’re going to
be looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack' ” (Hotz 3).
This evidence proves finding life is difficult, comparing that trying
to find a needle in a haystack is difficult. The author also states
projects, researching, as well as other conversations about this topic
being commenced. Although, this is not enough, if we are patient and
keep the work going, our goal will be reached. If technology is
improved to travel fast in space, and is intelligent to work on space
missions, then we can find life.

Two more reasons to argue that extraterrestrial life exists is that
there are various planets. Some of these planets have possibilities of
habitable environments, making that another reason to support the
claim. According to “The Search for Alien Life Ramps Up”, there are
over 4,000 planets that circle other stars and billions of planets in
our galaxy might have life due to them being habitable zones of their
stars.  In the same article the author states there is liquid methane
in some parts of Saturn which might be suitable for life. These
evidence pieces show that conditions are estimated on many planets.
According to “Aliens Must Be Out There”, “Since Nicolaus Copernicus
posited nearly 500 years ago that Earth is not at the center of the
universe, much of what humanity has learned about the cosmos has
confirmed our insignificant ordinariness” (Manjoo 1). This supports
that we are not alone. Another piece of evidence from that article is,
“Researchers have cataloged nearly 4,700 exoplanets, and astronomers
are eager for the launch this year of NASA’s James Webb space
telescope, which promises to provide much closer views of distant
worlds” (Manjoo 4). This statement proves that there are numerous
planets, and the search for life is building.

In conclusion, life exists on other planets. The three reasons that
have been discussed in this argument are that humans need to use more
improved technology, there are many planets, and specifically many
planets which are possibly habitable. Experts have been working on
space missions for years, with many many planets, much more time is
needed. The other side believes that our planet is the only
life-sustaining planet, but with all these details, it argues the
statement otherwise. So, we are not alone.

About this piece-

I was inspired to write this piece due to my passion for the cosmos. I hope people get inspired as well to construct a writing piece about something they have interest for. This essay was fun to write since it is a engrossing and professional topic.
