A Stranger
A Stranger
She sits in her room
Her head hung down
Her tears fall freely to the ground
How did she in up like this
Confused, broken, and torn
When she looks into the mirror
She sees a face she does not know
How did her life go so terribly wrong
Who is this person she’s become
This young girl- full of feelings
Yet she feels nothing at all
Her heart is heavy now
Her eyes are red with tears
No longer do smiles cross her lips
The laughter has left her eyes
Why must the pain go on and on
Will her life ever end
For this girl who’s she’s become
She can no longer hide her sorrow
And her reflection is still a face she does not know
Who is this girl with tears in her eyes
Who is this girl with a frown on her lips
She no longer knows who she is
She no longer sees herself
The tears have worn her heart thin
And narrowed the hope in her heart
Looking in the mirror she sees the face of a stranger
She wonders who this girl is
And why the pain does not end
For she does not know this girl who she’s become
