Gun Control
Does taking guns away really help keep people safe? No, I don’t think it does for these three reasons: one, people who really want to hurt somebody will be able to even without a gun, two, people will still be able to get their hands on guns, and third, it would leave citizens without much of a way to defend themselves. I will discuss these reasons in this essay.
First, guns are not the only weapon out there, and even if you took away ever single weapon people would just improvise and use something else like kitchen utensils, or office tools. Taking away weapons does not change people’s natures.
Second, people will always be able to get their hands on guns; importing guns from another state or country could be an option, or making your own. You could even take some from the government, which leads me to my next point.
Criminals are criminals and will not follow a “no gun” rules; your law abiding citizens will; which leaves citizens with no way of defending themselves. That is the reason most shootings happen. A person comes in with a gun, and, it is hard for citizens to stop the person because they don’t have weapons.
In conclusion, all these reasons should make it pretty clear gun control will not keep people safe. Having people with weapons around probably would make me feel safer.
