The Modern Zoo: Saving Species from Extinction
The writing titled “The Modern Zoo: Saving Species from Extinction,” written by Wilson Sherman, talks about how zoos protect animals. I agree with the author Wilson about how zoos protect animals. Some people think zoos are prisons for animals but they really aren’t as the author says, “Some people think of small concrete cages, bars not unlike those in prisons, and exotic animals on display exclusively for public entertainment.” The zoos are meant to protect the animals from extinction the dangers from the outside world. The article says, “Many zoos have made wildlife conservation a key pillar of their missions. Zoos serve as critical safe-holds for endangered species populations.” Zoos have protected many endangered species such as the California Condor and the Black-Footed Ferret.
