Climategate
Science is always like a roller coaster. It has its ups and its downs, two sides to every different theory, and a fueled debate on every subject. So when global warming was completely pessimistic, and there seemed to be no other side to the story, there was obviously something very wrong.
Global warming has always been the greatest worry and becoming a priority for those who care about the Earth and its awe inspiring beauty. The sight of carbon emissions as we come back from Newark airport has us thinking about the severe effects and the fact that the climate will fail on us one day. Primarily these are the thoughts of the younger generation, the teenagers, and future leaders of the world. We feel that global warming is man made, and the guilt that we feel for once is blamed entirely on ourselves. The luxury that we live in is destroying the world, hot, running water and electricity from polluting power plants, paper and our wonderful homes from the trees of the Amazon.
Then, there came the hacking of the “Climategate” emails, something that took everyone by surprise, younger and older generations alike. Maybe global warming wasn’t all that bad. Some of my guilt evaporated into pure anger. We relied on the scientists to give us the information that we needed, only to now learn that even science is infested with political bugs. In order to further their man made global warming theories, certain scientists of the Climate Research Unit stonewalled the valid research of other scientists that were contradicting their global warming theories.
In response to the conflict going on between Michael Mann and Patrick J. Michaels, I say that we all come to a new beginning. While we must not be utterly dismissive of the man made global warming theory, because some scientists have actual scientific data, scientists of different views should start to collaborate together on the root as well as the solution of the problem. Future generations should continue to improve being “environmentally friendly”, regardless of the fact that something drastic may not happen in the near future.
