You tell me to write you an essay, so I respond to your pleas, your demands, and write you an essay. However, I shall not reject criticism; as a matter of fact I shall embrace it. For your criticism is what makes me, builds me up to be the best that I can be. Do not be harsh, and use as much euphemism as you can, for I do not take well to harshness, therefore it is my only foe. Criticism is not my only friend. For praises are to. However, do not over estimate my intelligence, for literature is one and science is a hundred. Literature is second nature to humanity, and science is still yet ambiguous. Easily forgotten and ignored. However, literature you breathe literature you speak. Literature is one that joins with all the others. Science is wondrous. Science allows you to ascend human nature. Science allows you to think at different levels. To go beyond the barriers, simple assumptions build around you. For example if you truly believed that, life exists in another universe in a whole other dimension. What will you turn to?

Science? A variety of mathematics, and objects such as planets, moons, and mountain, study of organisms such as ourselves, and the creatures that exist around us? Or, literature? Tell me? How can reading, writing, and memorizing words, allow you to find the universe you seek? Of course, you may write down what you seek, what you suspect a different universe may look like, how you would achieve it and what you would do when you do achieve your goal. But how, how does this help? How can it be possible to go to a planet when the only things you own are words and documents? Do not be offended and do not assume that I do not appreciate literature for I do. Literature is essential to me though it is not a legitimate resource when it comes to science for any one can write what they want even though it is untrue. Therefore, the result of that would be unfathomable. However, literature is very essential when it comes to writing reports for your class, or that final exam that you shall receive at the end of a semester. Literature can be thought of as the beginning of education.

Let me explain why it is possible for people to claim such a thing. It all started when it came to the debate of whether or not we should have education for the children of this country. Should we allow females of all ages to learn how to write and read? Should people of different races learn to write and read? Do to all these questions and difficult answers our country, the United States of America said yes to all. We the people declared our selves equal not matter what race, what gender we are, we all should have a right to education. Notice that they only mentioned writing and reading.

Why? Well then the prospect of teaching science then was not really taken upon notice then. In fact, teaching children other subjects such as mathematics and other sciences such as biology and archeology did not come from a debate but smile evolution. At first we were slightly on going and uneducated. Most of us new only how to write and read. Where scholars were left to take care of the important things such as science and research. However, then came a time that we brought our economy into the picture. We started to think outside the box. We started to think ahead. We asked ourselves what would happen if we had more intelligent minds. Then we could achieve what is impossible to achieve.

Well, you know what? I agree. Since then America made education a top priority though other countries ascend us by great lengths. For other countries such as Japan, have extremely relevant requirements for their students. For example, the subjects that we study in college here in America are studied there in Japan by high school kids. How can this be? How could these children be so intelligent and well educated? You may ask. Well, no one knows for certain.

Maybe it is the fact that they have longer school years than us, or the fact that there parents are willing to sacrifice a day of work enable to go to school enable to cover for their child who is at home sick in bed and unable to do work. Who knows? As many may say; all have secrets, for all mankind has something to hide, no matter how good the deeds they have done, or how little they have done, all beings have secrets. Moreover, many of those secrets may hold the key, to a better education.

Many may agree while others disagree. The point is that all individuals have different views on education, and some way down the road those views will conflict and we shall have to be ready to face it and have a solution to the predicament. Let us get to the point here. Two hundred years ago, our elders came together and developed a system that required all children to go to school five times a week. They expected students to sit in class and memorize all that they can. Then in the end, they pass around stacks of paper, which are referred to as tests. They expected intelligence from kids, and they got it. But two hundred years later, we are still managing to hold on to this system. However, I am certain many would agree that it is time for a change for at our age in life there is too much information to memorize so now instead of memorizing every thing we must learn to search and find the information that we need. It is time for the world to become revolutionary.

As Obama said, it is time for a change. The time has come for us to re-think education. There are many unanswered questions about how can we possibly manage to do such a thing. Many would say that even the simple idea that we could come together and change the world is absolutely outrages. That is perfectly fine for as I stated earlier everyone has a view and everyone learns differently. My view is that we should give children a choice, not on what they must learn, but there view on how they learn. It is time to stop banning technology such as cell phones in school and start embracing them and altering them in a way that benefits all students, for the way they learn, determines how well they do education wise. If we were to give students a choice, we shall get results. I can guaranty you that those results will be satisfying.

Those results would change the way America viewed education and help us excel and have education become one of our top priorities. Enable for this to occur, we must change the amount of time we spend during a year educating our kids. I personally believe that student must only have a five-week summer break, and should get out of school at four pm. That way they would be able to spend more time in school and less time fooling around. I believe that this would reduce the number of teens who spend most of their time on the streets doing things that they have no business doing and that would result in a world with less criminals.

Many would agree that technology would result in great and better education for students. With technology, we would be able to go beyond the limits of education. We could use robots as student assistant, so that when the students need help and the teacher is not around, the students could ask the robot questions and be certain that they would receive the correct answers. We should allow students to use their cell phones for typing in info and allow them to record lesson so that they are able to review later on. The students should be able to use the internet for their quizzes. Right this minute I hear students complaining about the ban on cell phones and I am certain there are student’s miles away from here who are at this very moment, complaining about the exact same thing.

The flaw in today’s education is that we do not follow through with our word. No child left behind. Ask yourself, what is the true meaning of no child left behind? Have we even bothered to follow through with this? No. I can tell you right now that there are many poor children walking around on the streets and sleeping in garbage dumps. Out there, there are twelve year olds and fifteen year olds forced into child labor. At this very moment, they are being mistreated. Most of those children do not know the meaning of education and if you asked them, why? They would say I never had a chance. If you said what do you mean? Education is free, everyone has an equivalent chance. They would say; well I never got that chance, how am I supposed to know about this chance? I am only a child. I had to find food for myself. I was living on the streets all my life and I have been alone most of my life.

Schools should have many types of technology as I implied in the previous paragraphs. Laptops and smart phones are two of the electronics. We should have visual technology and our tables should contain computer touch screens built into the table. We should also have high-tech cameras and advanced telescopes. Instead of reading about the human brain, we should be able to visualize the human brain on a TV screen. We should be able to see infrared waves through telescopes and examine planets our selves instead of depending on a picture someone animated. We should be able to take electronics apart and put them back together. There are many possibilities when it comes to electronics. In fact, I could go on for hours and hours talking about them.

When it comes to choices there are many sides. Whether you make good or bad choices depends on your level of maturity and how much experience you have. I believe that when it comes to making choices, students are quite vulnerable. You would immediately assume that children would pick their subjects the same way they would choose their ice cream when the waiter asks them what they would like. In many cases, this is true. I have a mother who made the same mistake. When it came to high school, she was asked to choose between science and literacy. Well, my mother is a great fan of literacy. My mother loved to write stories and poems and memorize lessons. In fact, she received many rewards for her work. Therefore, it was obvious that she would choose literacy. At first she was pleased with her choice but after a year, she dreaded it for now she realized that she was missing out on a lot of important things. However, by then it was too late to go back on her decision. So this proves that until we truly do get out into the world, and start our jobs, and overcome the obstacles in life, are we wise enough to make our own decisions though we will end up making a wrong choice once In a while.

Reading, writing, and mathematics, are the most essential subjects in the world. I believe enable to get through life we should be able to do all. Ask yourself, if you wanted to get a job, how would you be able to go to the library and type in the URL enable for you to access this info? Even if you are able to access this info, how will you be able to read the info and process it? If you are unable to read and process this info, how will you be able to get a job? You continue to ask these questions and you realize, that if you are unable to get a job then you will not have money and if you do not have money, then you would not be able to pay your rent. Before you realize it, you are out there in the world starving, cold, and unable to do anything in the world, all because you did not learn to read and write.

Math on the other hand is slightly different. There are some jobs out there that do not include math, such as being a housekeeper, or sweeping floors and being a waiter. However, when it comes to pay day and taxes, how would you know how much you were paid or how much you are supposed to pay? How would you be able to enjoy the simple things in life such as shopping and going to restaurants or even traveling? The truth is it would be hard to succeed in life when you are unable to count how many fingers you have or the sprinkles on your ice cream cone.

To many adults such as teachers, standardized testing seems perfectly normal and legit. I, on the other hand believe that we should have standardized testing as long as they are not so long and difficult to understand. We should definitely have map tests because they assist us when it comes to figuring out what we do not understand and what we do understand. MCA’S on the other hand probably should not determine whether or not we graduate from a grade. I believe it is unfair to us students if we are expected to remember all that we have learned throughout the year. Actually, in MCA’S we are asked to solve problems that we never even knew existed. That is the reason I give for why MCA testing is not legit.
These are my views on education. I hope that this essay has opened your eyes to the wonders and flaws of education. I wrote this essay so that I to may be able to understand education in a more clear and positive way for once I assumed education is there just to occupy the time of a child so that they do not intrude and take up too much time in your life. However, that was my assumption three years ago so I doubt that is my view at this time in my life.
