Every school in the world at one point has given their students homework on weekends and holiday breaks. Schools shouldn't be allowed to give homework on weekends nor holiday breaks becuase it is not fair.

Every year students must go to school 10 out of the 12 months in a year. Every week us students have school 5 out of the 7 days. When we arrive home tired. We wake up at 6 am to get ready for school at 7:40am and dont get out until 2:26pm! That isn't including students like me who play sports. Practice lasts from 3pm to 5pm. If there is a game that day, you normally dont get home until 7pm. If you have an away game, sometimes you dont get home until 10pm! We just want to relax after a hard day of learning, but the work is not over just becuase school is out for the day. We get homework. So we are in school for 8 hours plus. In addition, another 4 hours of homework. Oh great, another restless night.

That is why we have the weekends. On the weekends, we are suppose to enjoy ourselves, relax, hangout with friends, play, sleep in and so much more! Sadly, we cannot do that. Teachers give us weekend homework. We were suppose to have fun, we had our weekend planned out. Now, we have homework. We are now cramming to finish our homework so we can play, and actually have fun. Unfortunately, by the time you know it, the weekend is over! We never got to play, sleep in or hang out with friends since our parents never let us leave the house until all homework and chores are completed! What is really bad, is on holidays we get breaks whith homework. Our families celebrate holidays by spending time with friends and family at a get-together. The problem is the homework delays the celebration. I have heard some teachers say, "Just becuase your going on break for a holiday, that doesnt mean it is a learning vacation."   Now we wasted our entire holiday break/weekend doing homework! Now the week starts again with more work!

The weekend is when us students are suppose to have a break from stressed cause from work. Of course, I do understand why the teachers give us homework. They just want us to pactice what we learned in class so we will get a good grade. I totally understand, but that is why they should give us homework during the school week, not on the weekends.
