MAN AND WOMAN, NOT MAN VS. WOMAN
There is no doubt in the fact that the world we live in has been marinated with patriarchy for all of the time we’ve known. No one can deny that we have misinterpreted the idea of gender equality. The primary objective of gender equality was to allow women the right to a harassment-free living. However, we have been living in an illusion that gender equality is only related to women. This is wrong!
Gender is about ensuring that the perspectives and needs of both men and women are taken into account. Gender equality is more about receiving equal rights than it is about focusing on women. Gender equality should not be seen as a victory for women over men’s “predominance”. It should be seen as a crucial achievement of a society that is more reflective of the daily challenges facing tens of millions of families.
People need to look at the bigger picture. They must co-exist and practice human rights for all genders. In the end, it's you and I, not You vs. I
