Create
We were created to create.
That sounded strange, didn't it? Say it again. Think about it.
We were created to create.
That's what we're supposed to do. We're supposed to have ideas and put them into art, music, stories, sculpture, anything we can think of. Those things are what define us and our different cultures. Our ideas, thoughts, and feelings.
But today's world seems to do everything for us. We don't have to entertain ourselves, because we are constantly being entertained. We don't have to create because everything has already been created for us. We don't have to have good ideas because other people are out there having those good ideas that make all of our lives easier and more convenient.
And that's true to a point. But when you start to feel antsy or incomplete, go pick up a paintbrush, a pencil, a guitar, a piece of clay. Make something. It doesn't have to be perfect or professional or beautiful, but it will bring you back to the child-like joy of using water colors and construction paper to scribble a family picture.
Because although we were created to create, we're losing touch with that fact. Let's try to be the first ones to break the cycle.
