Seeing into the Unknown
Peering over thick foliage in a national park at Jiuzhaigou, China, I saw a beautiful turquoise lake that was miraculously clear. Beneath the shallow water, I observed fallen trees larger than most I had ever seen before and tranquil algae resting at peace on the lake bed. This stunning scene made me realize that the world was much larger than it often seems. Aside from what we as humans can see, there are entire worlds yet unknown to us. Hence, a sense of adventure was invoked inside of me, a need to see what other secrets the world holds and a desire to go above and beyond.
