To Dance

On the dance floor she grows wings,
To the stage magic she brings.
She moves like a pen on the page;
She lives solely on the stage.
She holds perfectly still up on top of the shoe.
Her abilities are completely untrue.
In the fraction of a moments time,
She enters flight and becomes sublime.
The power of her dance, it sings.
Majestic journey she’s the bearer of wings.
That I shall ever keep the sight,
Of beauty in its wingless flight,
Within my heart, to always treasure.
A grace apart, beyond all measure.
