Wall
I trusted no one,
I never hugged,
unless I had to,
for friends felt unloved.
I created a wall,
when someone hurt me,
for they invaded my privacy,
and ever since,
I've been convinced,
That love would be tested through this.
I fought emotions,
and kept them in,
about who I liked,
keeping crushes within,
they were but a secret,
until one day,
I fell in love,
and I couldn't push away.
I avoided him all together,
and it worked quite well,
until my heart melted,
and our hands held well.
We've been dating for years,
and I never regret,
the wall I put up,
'cause now I am set.
