It Sucks To Be Unique
Cade's experience in his article, "It Sucks To Be Unique," is something I can relate to. When Cade states "words are not always just words. Words are weapons and can injure just like guns do." I completely agree. Just because you can't see damage being made doesn't mean it's not happening. The only thing is I never had a big problem being judged by my sexual orientation. What stands out the most to me is he talks about how he never decided to be different, that is just who he is. It's frustrating to explain this to someone who doesn't have these views. But, I've learned to only tell them that they don't need to understand. Only respect it. I love seeing, hearing, and encountering situations where a person has learned to not be afraid of who they are and/ or what they believe in.
