Competing With True Love
Your beauty gave the blind a reason to see,
The touch of your hand gave the moon envy,
The meeting of our eyes had been magical,
The parting of our lips satirically comical,
The forbidden action,
Built a chemical attraction,
You’ve sewn dreams into my sleep,
I’m ready to take the leap,
Cupid is cruelly unjust,
But the sun shines for us,
A brand new fray between love and insanity,
Makes this marriage the sin of vanity,
Unfaithful only to my name,
This coat of arms and hands prove a shame,
The lock on my heart broke that night,
I’ve never seen such a captivating sight,
Our hearts beat on one wavelength,
You have a simple silent strength,
The softness of the silk you call lips,
From where all innocence drips,
Leave me with more than a mere memory,
How could you be my enemy?
