Inspiration, motivation,
Flicks the switch,
My head floods with words
And emotions
Running through my head like a river,
I can't concentrate,
On anything else,
Until I write
The words on paper,
Where they cannot be
Forgotten.

The author's comments:
This is part of a three-part series, all poems about different aspects of writing. This, what I've described, generally happens after visiting Teen Ink and reading poems. It really starts the creative juices flowing.

So true, so incredibly true :) p.s.- inspiration is the BEST feeling in the entire world, without it I couldn't write anything, and you definitely have it :)

Incredible! That is exactly how I feel when I have a burst of inspiration. I always have an insane urge to write down whatever I was thinking. Awesome poem. :)

Nice- I can definitely relate!

Writing is this obsession, like a disease almost. That absolute need to write really came through here.

Great job!

I enjoyed reading this very much. I love poems that end in one word, i think it really pulls the whole piece together. Nicely done.
