Remember
Remember those sunny days of childhood?
Those summer days spent without a care
When the golden daffodils would wave at us
And the gentle breeze caressed our hair
Remember the sunsets we would watch?
The sky - a patchwork of scarlet, pink, and gold
As day gave way to starry night
And all was right with our world
Remember the trees that we would climb?
The chocolate bark scraping our knees
As we picked the luscious apples
From their confines among emerald leaves
Remember the meadows we would find?
Wheat standing taller than our heads
Getting lost in the waves of grain
The flowers dancing, flashing red among golden threads
Remember the storms that we would watch?
Listening to the thunder roar
And lightning flashed, but we weren’t scared
Because we knew there’d be a rainbow: the fear no more
Remember those sunny days of childhood?
We were kids back then,
Now? Adults who regretfully remember.
