Ode to a Broken Heart
I’m out of words to describe this feeling.
I’m out of tears to shed for you.
I’m tired of living without happy ending,
Being forced to face the morning dew.
I want to rest in peaceful slumber.
I want to rest in heaven’s breast.
You’ve taken away all that mattered, Lord.
Why not take away the rest?
Why face the sun’s orange orb of light,
Shining in the sky’s blue blend?
Why continue on another day,
With a heart that will not mend?
“Rise, wake up, and carry on”
Are the words which reach me ear,
But how can I continue on
When my heart is filled with fear?
And yet here I go again…
Jump through the ring of fire.
Must go on. Must love again.
Must fill love’s burning desire.
