In Mid-July on a hot, humid day,
A girl’s heart was gruesomely killed.
The murderer let us just say,
With his words, he was skilled.

In the beginning, it was fun,
He captured her attention in every sense.
Now, in her world there is no sun.
She has built around her heart a stone fence.

Day in, day out, she walks by him pretending,
Not to know who he is or what he means
She hurts so much, unwillingly the stone fence is breaking and bending,
Only wanting for him to say everything is not what it seems.

The victim?

Her Shattered Heart

The Murder Weapon?

His Hateful Words

I know I have felt like this before and it really sucks. I don't like felling like that. Although, this poem-- just beautiful. You've captured the sharp venomous things we call words and shone a light on them, calling them out for what they truly are. Nice job genesis. <3

This is soooo good! You captured just how much words can hurt. Nice job.
