Yellow & Purple

Generally, I am pastel yellow—
optimistic and opportune,
calm and caring.
Like a sunflower stretching for the sky
or the sun spreading its rays of warmth.
But at the right times, I can be vivid purple—
loud and laughful,
silly and springy.
Like grape gatorade gushing for the bottle
or the first bite into a pulpy plum.
I am certainly both—
mostly pastel yellow
and a little vivid purple.
Mixed together in the perfect ratio
just for me.
