I am more
May 30, 2019
In public I am sunflower yellow,
Brightening up my life
Growing in middle school classrooms,
Just to be left to welt.
In sadness I am storm cloud gray,
With waves of tears,
Thunder cackling as loud as a drum,
Overthinking like flashes of lightning.
Alone I am nighttime black,
Little light but its there,
Hope fading like looking into dark woods,
Too dark to see damage and hurt.
But I am more than my colours.
