What is life,
if not a little,
beautiful flower
trying to bloom
in a terrible tempest.

And what is a tempest
if not the teardrops
of the flowers
that have not bloomed,
that have melted
into tears
because of tears.

And what are tears
if not the pearls
of the necklace
of sadness.

And what is sadness
if not the lack
of the dress
of happiness.

And what is happiness
if not the presence
of a real person.

And what is a real person
if not someone
who's smile
is a gate to heaven,
who's voice
is the sound of joyfullness,
who's heart,
is the suns' diamond.

A friend.

I wrote this poem after I had to leave a friend who was very important to me. This is an ode to her, and to all she, and all really good friends, represent.

It's a common mistake for a reason. English is a stupid language. =P

This is nice. =] You may like to know that "who's" needs to be "whose" in the last stanza, though.
