Treadmill
Where are we running
On this treamill called life?
It just keeps repeating itself
Such a vicious cycle
I say "Let's bust this old thing up
Stop running in place
Lie this old rubber mat out before us
And follow it for the rest of our days"
Any of us could stray from it
At any given time
But I'll always remember what used to be
Of that ancient mechanism
And come back to that treadmill mat
Who knows?
Maybe you'll return as well
And we can run
Or walk
Whichever you prefer
Alongside eachother
Just like we used to
Except this time...
Well...
It will be this time...
